Benalmadena
Benalmadena is a municipality in the province of Malaga and consists of three main areas: Benalmadena Pueblo, Benalmadena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel. The city of Malaga (and the nearest airport) is about 12 km to the west, and Marbella is 42 km to the east. The area has grown rapidly in recent decades due to tourism and has become one of the Costa del Sol's prime investment areas and holiday spots.
Benalmadena enjoys a subtropical Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and warm winters. Cooling breezes from the sea make the summer heat manageable, temperatures are an average of 30 ºC in summer and 17 ºC in winter.

Benalmadena offers many shopping options. The area has a wide range of large and smaller shops along with weekly markets to choose from.
The Marina in the port area is a very picturesque location with a small shopping street that winds around the harbour, with around 200 stores, including stylish boutiques such as the wonderful Kenrod, Bitacora, Regalia, and Zerima.
The Plaza Mayor Shopping Park is your best bet for all the big names, this shopping centre is located before Malaga city about 8km. Here you will be able to find entertainment, food and of course many of the largest high street stores and brands. With plenty of parking and inexpensive and easy rail links, it’s definitely one of the best places to shop near Benalmadena.
Sports
The sports offered in Benalmadena are varied and covers all sorts of activities. Whether it´s sea, sky or mountain sports you want there are plenty of activities to choose from. Naturally, being a coastal town, Benalmadena offers facilities to practice any water sport you can think of or if you enjoy nature, then you could go hiking in Monte Calamorro.
